	本課程目的在於向同學介紹社會科學家們在對社會現象進行研究時所必須經歷的過程。全學年的課程將著重於實證量化的研究步驟及資料收集之說明，但也會將質性研究方式作初步介紹。
	英文概要
	The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the procedures by which social scientist gather, analyze, and interpret information about the social world. During the first semester, you will become familiar with the process of conducting a social research. The second semester of this course will focus on various research methods that you will use to collect your research data. Although a variety of methods will be considered, emphasis will be placed on survey research, as this is the method most frequently used by sociologists. The approach of this course will be “hand-on”; you are required to actual DO a research in a team. Part of your final grade will based on this actual research report.
